Michael Haritan is a professional commercial photographer with a Certified and Craftsman Rating from the Professional Photographers of America. Based in Pittsburgh, this award-winning photographer offers a wide range of services, encompassing projects such as advertising, corporate photography, architecture, construction, real estate, industrial photography, healthcare photography, editorial work, public relations, education, travel, sports, and entertainment.

Michael Haritan has been honored with numerous awards on local, state, national, and international levels for his exceptional photography. Notably, he received the first-place award in 1987 for his photograph of a downtown Pittsburgh construction project, which was prominently displayed at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.

In 2016 and 2018, his journeys to Ukraine yielded valuable research material about the world's worst nuclear accident. This research served as the foundation for his 2023 book, titled "Chernobyl: Aftermath of the World's Greatest Nuclear Disaster." The book offers a photographic chronicle and memoir of his two visits, featuring untold stories and interviews with survivors of the Exclusion Zone.

In addition to his photography career, Michael Haritan earned a Master of Music in Folk Arts degree in 1980. He has produced photo documentaries on folk music and dance cultures, as well as the history, architecture, and geography of Native Americans, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, and Ukraine. Throughout his forty-year career, he has been dedicated to teaching photography to students and enthusiasts at various levels, including secondary, college, and adult education.

In 2013, Haritan earned an Associate of Science Degree in Homeland Security and became a member, contributing his photography skills to the Pennsylvania Urban Search & Rescue Strike Team 1 and the Counterterrorism Task Force - Region 13.
